Introduction to Irrigation and Installation

So you’re new to the irrigation industry or you have never had an opportunity to get your hands on any product, now is your chance. In this introductory course you will learn the basics of irrigation installation. Topics that will be covered: introduction to an irrigation system, product identification and terminology, basic design procedures, techniques in installation and set-up of newly installed systems.

Learning Objectives


Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Describe the principles of basic irrigation system hydraulic operation

2. Differentiate between different emission components commonly used in landscape irrigation

3. Complete a water-tight connection using common irrigation pipe types

4. Construct a complete irrigation control valve manifold assembly

5. Identify acceptable placement for each irrigation system electrical component and properly install each item.
